This week, my husband and I put an offer in on a new home and it was accepted! Although I have purchased homes in the past, this process made me realize how the internet is such a game changer when it comes to buying a home. For years, we have followed our lender and realtor on Instagram where they share information on homes, rates, and ownership tips. In fact, the only reason we knew about this home was because of an online platform- Zillow. Within hours, we saw the listing, viewed the property, made an offer, and got our offer accepted! Using online tools, we received critical documents related to the home, signed secured forms for our official offer, and exchanged important correspondence with lenders, agents, and insurance providers. We have even used platforms like Pinterest and Instagram to explore design inspirations and ways we can make this home our own- all within a few days. These online tools are not only helpful but essential in today’s world for connecting with homebuyers of all ages, demographics, and backgrounds. It is quite the whirlwind we have ahead of us, but we are so excited to finalize the process and secure our new home!
